Ukraine has shared a video showing debris in the building of a children's hospital in the city of Mariupol. Officials have claimed that Russia carried out airstrikes and targeted a children's hospital and maternity center in the southeastern port city of Mariupol.
The city council has made a statement on its social media account on Wednesday that the hospital had suffered "enormous" damage.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky tweeted: "People, children are buried under the rubble." He called the attack "atrocities".
Kirillo Taimoshenko, deputy head of Zelensky's office, said officials were trying to figure out the number of people killed or injured.
The US has strongly condemned the attack by Russia of a children's hospital in Ukraine. Ukrainian officials say an air raid on a children's hospital in the city of Mariupol injured a woman who was giving birth.
According to Ukrainian leaders, the attack happened despite the ceasefire. On the other hand, Russia says that the Ukrainian army had evacuated all civilians, including patients, from the hospital and put a barricade in this building.
