A test of rocket warning sirens was sounded in Jerusalem, on Tuesday morning, as part of a military exercise.
Beeps were heard intermittently across the city between 10:05 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Jerusalem has been divided into five separate alert zones. Each zone will be tested at a different time interval. Residents of some neighborhoods were able to hear the sirens in other neighborhoods.
The Israeli army had said in a tweet on Twitter, Monday: "An exercise in preparation for an emergency will be conducted by the Home Front Command tomorrow in Jerusalem."
"As part of the exercise, an alarm will be activated in several areas of the city," he added.
He continued: "The residents are required to practice entering protected areas while the alerts are activated, and to ensure that they are prepared for emergencies."
Usually, sirens are sounded, as soon as missiles are fired, to enable citizens to head to protected areas like the bomb shelters which are well stocked for an emergency.
The last time that rockets were fired at Israeli areas of the city was last year.
Last May, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired missiles at Israeli areas of Jerusalem, during the 11-day Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
The war erupted after Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, on civilians in the Bab Al-Amoud area of the city, and an attempt to evict Palestinian families from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah.
