The tragic death of the man who drowned while proposing to his girlfriend underwater in Tanzania
American Steven Weber was killed in a Tanzanian hotel while proposing to his girlfriend in a submerged room. The causes of his death are still unclear.
One of the most beautiful and most remembered moments in the life of a couple is the moment in which one of its components asks the other to marry . There are thousands of ways to do it: classic, original, fun and some even dangerous. The moment usually ends well, unless the answer is negative, although in the case of the American Steven Weber and Kenesha Antoine , the thing ended in a huge tragedy.
It all happened on a super-luxury floating hotel on the island of Pemba, in Tanzania . There, the couple was on vacation and Steven had planned to propose to Kenesha in an original way, through one of the glass walls of the floating room where they were staying.
In the video that Kenesha herself has published after the tragedy, Steven can be seen diving out of the room. The American pulls out a handwritten piece of paper that reads: "I can't hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. But...everything I love about you, I love you more every day!" !".
After turning the paper over, you can read the big question: "Do you want to marry me?" . Right after Steven pulls a ring out of his swimsuit and shows it. After this romantic moment you can see how the man rises to the surface, located 10 meters. But Steven did not arrive alive.
This sad story has gone viral after Kenesha uploaded the video to her Facebook profile, several photos together and an emotional farewell letter addressed to Steven. "He never came out of those depths ," says the letter, which confirms that the proposal would have ended in a wedding: "yes a million times. I will find you and marry you in our next life, and in the next, and in the next, and next time... I love you so much, and always will."
What happened in those ten meters of emersion? Nobody knows. The only thing the hotel has been able to confirm is that "he tragically drowned due to a problem in the water while free diving outside the submerged room."
