Train Goes Without Engine

This is not a miraculous invention of the railway world, but an example of negligence, which has been carried out by the Indian Railways.

By the way, no train can run without an engine. But anything can happen in India. In Odisha, a train with 22-coach passenger continued to run on its own for 15 km, without an engine. And nobody could do anything.

As soon as the news was received, all the crossings were closed to prevent any kind of accident. After covering a distance of about 15 km, the train was stopped at a particular station at 12 pm with the help of stones.

Chief Security Officer of East Coast Railway has called it the negligence of the train drivers.

How Did This Accident Happen?
Now the first question that comes to mind is that when there was no engine in the train, then how did this train run?

Generally, whenever the engine of the train is changed, care is taken that the skid brakes are installed on the coaches of the train, so that the coaches do not slide on their own.

The Express Train was standing at a station at around 10 pm. It was about to go and the engine of the train was to be changed.

But at this station, the railway employees were very negligent and did not apply skid brakes. And because of the slope, the coaches of the train started sliding on their own. Due to the slope, this train picked up a good speed.

Some people standing on the station platform noticed the train moving without an engine. They began to scream at the passengers, asking them to pull the chain of the train, but the people sitting in the train were unaware that their train was running without an engine.

This train ran for about 35 minutes and stopped at a particular railway station, 15 km away. The railway tracks at this station were not on a slope but at a slight height (upward incline). That's why this train could not proceed from here.

Railways have issued instructions to conduct a high-level inquiry into the matter.

However, shortly after, the railway employees noticed that the train was running untimely on the track. Railways says that all the passengers aboard the train are safe.

Chief Public Relations Officer of East Coast Railway has taken the incident seriously. The DRM (Divisional Railway Manager) himself has visited the site of the incident. The report of the investigation is expected soon. And if anyone is found responsible, then strict action will be taken against him.

Railways have taken immediate action on this negligence and suspended seven employees including two drivers.
